The fishtail braid is definitely one of the biggest hairstyles this year. This
hairstyle looks elaborate and time consuming however it is incredibly easy to
style and will quickly become one of those on the go hairstyles that we all
need while rushing around. This is a great hairstyle as it can be worn to
formal or casual events and the plait can either be perfectly neat or purposely
messy. Here is a step by step guide to get your fishtail braid.
- Divide your hair into two large sections, parting straight down the middle. If you want a neater polished plait use a comb to part your hair. If you’re a after a messy tousled look simply part your hair with your hands.
- Take a small strand from the underneath of one of your sections of hair. For a more intricate plait use smaller strands as it makes the plait look more ‘fishtail’ like. Pull the strand over across the section of hair it’s from, and then add it into the other side.
- Do the exact same on the other side, pulling the strand over from it’s original section to the new one.
- If you are only learning how to do this hairstyle pull the strands tighter as it will help u learn the method properly.
- Keep alternating sides, weaving over and under until you reach the end of the plait and secure with a hair bobbin.
